Amaigbo is a large town in current Imo State, Nigeria. It is the headquarters of Nwangele Local Government Area. Amaigbo is regarded by some as the point of dispersal of Ndi Igbo who then founded other parts of Igbo land. There are thirty-seven villages in Amaigbo; each village is idiosyncratic in its cultural dance, marital rites and other ethics that they adhere to.

It is home to some prominent figures in the history of Nigeria including King Jaja of Opobo, who was sold into slavery in pre-colonial Nigeria as well as Dick Tiger, a multiple title winning Nigerian boxer.
